Hello, and salutations! I am a hula hoop dancer, instructor, and performer.
My mission is to help other authentic eccentrics become more confident, empowered, and embodied through intentional movement and creative self expression.
I was led down this unconventional path when I first picked up a hoop in 2013. I was hooked when I realized the physical, emotional, and social benefits of having a regular practice. For the first time I felt truly confident in my body - moving, expressing, mindful, and free of self-doubt. Eager to share these gifts with others, I became certified and began teaching in 2015.
Since then, I have hosted workshops in over 40 cities across the country and connected with the hooping community by participating in Hooping Idol Season 5 and the Electric Forest Hoop Troupe contest, ultimately earning Hooping.org's Male Hooper of the Year as well as nominations for Instructor of the Year, Tutorial of the Year, and Video of the Year. More recently, I have relocated to Buffalo, NY and begun offering beginner hoop dance programs geared towards a wide variety of events and facilities, and birthday parties for youth. Additionally, I teach classes and operate as the Educational Programming Coordinator for a local circus studio, The Birds Nest, and work as a teaching artist through Young Audiences of Western New York.
